The year2020 brought with it the explosion of the COVID-19 pandemic; and with all that was experienced and is still being experienced, we will undoubtedly remember it as one of the hardest and most difficult years of our lives. The sudden and dramatic spread of the coronavirus in Spain resulted, at first, in a saturation of hospitals, revealing a very important failure of equipment and health material, both to care for patients and to protect our first line of defense, the health personnel.
THE UNCERTAINTY
The paralysis of a large part of the economic fabric, in turn, meant that many companies saw their activities limited or cancelled and, with few exceptions, were forced to react in order to survive.
In the midst of so much difficulty, CELINDE had to reflect on how to react to the crisis, being aware, despite fears for the health of workers and their families, of our inescapable social responsibility.
And we got down to work....
A HISTORICAL PHENOMENON
At the request of the government of the nation, the laboratory was engaged in the mass production of hydroalcoholic sanitary gel to respond to the distressing demand of hospitals, health centers, pharmacies and those essential activities that remained active within the state of alarm. In particular, the donation of this material, as well as masks and PPE to the health personnel of the Miguel Servet hospital in Zaragoza was a moral obligation.

However, the challenge was not merely a matter of scale; CELINDE was in a position to offer a product that was not only functional, but also of high quality due to its status as a manufacturer of high cosmetics. Formulation and organoleptic aspects, such as a PH that is in harmony with the skin, a viscosity that will guarantee the persistence of the biocide effect for half a minute, or a pleasant aroma and texture, were going to make the difference with other brands.
INNOVATION PAR EXCELLENCE
The next project that CELINDE undertook in the midst of the health crisis was to provide a real and practical cosmetological solution to the dermatological problems that were progressively arising, especially among health personnel, as a result of the continued use of masks and disinfectant products, and which would soon affect the entire population.
Thus was born O3 Optimal Serum, a serum with a light, soothing and moisturizing texture, suitable for all skin types, with bactericidal and virucidal action, specially formulated to prevent topical infection and treat skins with dysbiosis or skin alterations due to the continued use of masks and disinfection products.
