CELINDE EXPERIENCE
WORLD HAPPINESS DAY
YOUR HAPPINESS IS PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER
OnMarch 20, the International Day of Happiness is celebrated around the world to recognize its importance in people's lives, to spread positivity with others and to encourage each nation to prioritize the happiness of its citizens as a supreme good.
GROSS NATIONAL HAPPINESS
In 2012, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming INTERNATIONAL HAPPINESS DAY. It recognizes the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings, and the importance of their achievement in the policies of governments.
"We call for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes the happiness and well-being of all people."
The resolution was proposed by Bhutan, which recognized in the 1970s the value of happiness as a fundamental basis for an inclusive and equitable society. Bhutan adopted Gross National Happiness in its Constitution as a target harmonizable with the country's Gross Domestic Product, prioritizing the happiness of its citizens in all decisions related to economic growth.
In 2015, the UN launched the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that seek to end poverty, reduce inequality and protect our planet, three key aspects that lead to well-being and happiness.
HAPPYTALISM
The International Day of Happiness has resulted in the creation of a new concept and movement: HAPPYTALISM, which is included among the 10 steps to achieve global happiness.
Its founders, Jayme Illien and Luis Gallardo, advocate the idea of adopting and disseminating a more holistic, inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes sustainable development, poverty eradication, happiness and well-being for all people.
"The time has come for people around the world to pursue their inalienable right to freedom and the pursuit of happiness, and to adopt and implement HAPPYTALISM replacing old and ineffective systems such as capitalism and socialism."
HAPPINESS CHALLENGE
The illustrious writer Tal David Ben-Sharar, professor of Positive Psychology and leadership at Harvard University, created the "Happiness Challenge": a collection of good habits to make happiness a way of life.
"Happiness becomes a goal and a fundamental human right."
Happiness is not a state of constant euphoria, it is a state of balance that requires practice, discipline and resilience. Happiness can also be found in the ephemeral moments of life such as a sunset, a glass of wine with a friend, the smell of coffee in the morning...
